Falconry Courses & Experience Days

Our falconry courses are designed to be fun and informative and are run by experienced and professional falconers. We operate throughout the year, weekdays and weekends.

Located in Dorset close to Devon and Somerset with access to hundreds of acres of Dorset countryside, we guarantee not only excellent hawking but also a true wildlife experience.

Vouchers valid for 12 months are also available should the experience be purchased as a gift. For all experiences the minimum age is 14 and a good, general level of fitness is required.

Half Day Hawking Experience

After a brief introduction to your instructor and the birds you will experience flying Harris Hawks to the glove in the surrounding Dorset countryside for approx. 3 hours. All equipment is provided. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn.

Full Day Hawking Experience

The day begins at 9.30am and after being introduced to your tutor and the birds the morning is spent learning the basic techniques of falconry. After lunch you will experience flying Harris Hawks to the glove in the surrounding countryside until approx. 4.30pm. All equipment is provided. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn.

Ultimate Bird of Prey Experience NEW

This is more than just a hawk experience day. Fly them all – owls, hawks, falcons and eagles! The ultimate falconry experience.

The Owl Experience

Experience the thrill of getting up close and personal with the most magical of all birds of prey. Barn owls, Tawny owls and Eagle owls to name but a few.

Cost	£49 for a 1hour experience

Exclusive/VIP Hunting Experience NEW

Hunting with hawks on some of Dorset’s finest Estates after rabbit, pheasant and hares. The oldest field sport in the world practised under the guidance of our qualified Falconers and Estate Gamekeeper. A good fitness level is required and all hunting is in accordance with the game season.

Five Day/Weekly Falconry Course

Our five day/weekly falconry courses give the ‘would-be’ falconer the opportunity to learn and gain experience in all aspects of falconry, including: Basic handling, training, flying, hunting, equipment making and fitting, hand rearing, incubation, husbandry and first aid.
