Raptor facts
Great horned owls have many colour phases from Rufous Brown in South America to silver in Northern Canada. Their favoured nest sites are those built and used by Red Tailed Hawks – a ready built home. A very powerful bird; they can produce 500lbs of grasping pressure in their talons.
