Martin Ballam Martin was then offered the position of Centre manager at Eagle Heights Bird of Prey Centre in Eynsford, Kent. He was the main demonstrator for centre based displays and for many off site fetes, fayres, country shows and schools ranging from key stage one to university level. This also included taking part in BAYS (British Association for Young Scientists) days all over the country. Martin’s extensive knowledge in animals and birds of prey is due to a variety of experience in hand rearing, incubation, veterinary work, being involved in rescue work whilst working alongside organisations such as the RSPCA, Essex Wildlife Hospital,The Hawk and Owl Trust and other animal rescue operations. Martin was also the representative whilst in Cornwall for the Barn Owl release scheme. He also now works in an advisory role and produces signs for other zoological collections. You may have also seen Martin appearing in television shows giving advice and demonstrating the work he has been involved in. Such shows include Animal hospital, CBBC, Sky TV, BBC South East, BBC South West, The BBC Weather Programme and The Really Wild Show. |
